A Brief History of JCB: One of the World's Top Three Manufacturers of Construction Equipment

    Last updated 3 days ago

This video provides a brief yet substantial look through the history of the JCB construction equipment manufacturer. We’ve all seen JCB vehicles when passing building sites and when scaffolding and street construction has been undertaken.

Many of the machines that they are known for are excavators, wheeled loaders, dump trucks, fork lifts, dumpsters and tractors. These are just some of the ranges built by JCB, each with several models included.

The JCB name comes from the company founder’s initials, Joseph Cyril Bamford, who established the company in 1945. His company became successful over time and grew as he built new vehicles to greater success. Since then, the JCB fleet has expanded greatly and is used in building, agriculture, military and more all over the world.

The video displays several reasons why JCB is a name synonymous with quality.

If you’re looking to hire and experience the quality that comes with a  JCB machine for your construction or agriculture work, you can contact Winner Group in Sussex by phoning them 0845 527 1428.

What to Look for in a Fork Lift Truck

    Last updated 11 days ago

If you’re buying a new or a used fork lift truck, there are many things you should consider before committing to buy or hire. Fork lifts are used to load and unload trucks, and also for stacking and unstacking pallets in warehouses. In order to buy one that suits your needs, you must determine what you’re going to be using your fork lift truck for and what kind of space you’ll be operating it in.

For use with trucks, your fork lift needn’t be too tall as it will only need to lift items up and place them on the truck, or vice versa. In warehouses, however, when the shelves can be more than 30 feet tall, you will need a fork lift that can elevate itself high enough to reach them.

It’s also good to remember that you will need to buy a fork lift that is in accordance with your warehouse aisle size: if you have fairly narrow aisles of around eight to ten feet wide, you’ll need a narrow aisle fork lift. If they are as narrow as six feet, a very narrow aisle truck will help do the job.

Depending on how often you’ll need to use your fork lift, you will be able to purchase a new or used vehicle. For occasional use, a short term hire makes the most sense, but if you’d rather have your own then buying a used one can save you money from the offset, and this is the best option if you are not planning to use your fork lift very often. However, if you are planning on using it frequently, then it is best to get a new one that will last longer and is more reliable.

Finding fork lifts to buy used or new, or to hire, in Sussex is easy when you call Winner Group on 0845 527 1428. You’ll be able to discuss whether your requirements necessitate hiring or buying a fork lift truck.

Do You Need to Use Scaffolding for Your Project? Better Read Up on Your Safety Tips Here

    Last updated 14 days ago

Scaffolding is very safe when used with the proper care and safety guidelines, but accidents can happen when safety rules are ignored or workers just get that little bit too confident and think that nothing bad could ever happen to them. It’s important to educate workers on scaffolding safety and to do so regularly in order to ensure they are always abreast of current safety regulations so the chances of any accidents are at their lowest.

Some safety tips for using scaffolding include one of the most basic – always make sure that the foundation of the scaffolding is laid on flat and stable ground. An unreliable foundation means untrustworthy scaffolding structure on top – if you can’t be assured that the bottom of the structure is safe, this will only become less reliable the higher you go.

Another tip is to choose your scaffolding materials wisely. Aluminium scaffolding is lighter than steel, but in some locations, particularly in certain parts of Britain, it’s worth putting in the extra effort and opting for steel to ensure against wind or other damage due to weather. Wind is also the reason you should avoid adding tarpaulin to your scaffolding: it can create a wind tunnel and dislodge any light or insecurely-attached parts. If it is raining, remember that scaffolding can become slippery, and if it’s sunny make sure that anybody working at the top has sun block to protect their skin.

Do You Need to Use Scaffolding for Your Project? Here Are Some Safety Tips.
Scaffolding should always be inspected and checked with frequency to ensure it’s the safest for you and your workers. If you need to hire tools in Sussex for building your scaffolding, or machinery to assist you with the job, call Winner Group on 0845 527 1428 to make arrangements. You can also get advice about tying your scaffolding to the building you’re working on to further increase safety, and much more.
